A Message from Linda
This is an exciting time in the field of aging – and an exciting time for me personally. I have had the fun of working closely with many partners here at Ohio State in the development, implementation and ongoing presentation of the SAGE series. I can assure you we are all committed to providing students with the most rewarding educational experience possible – and it’s “at a distance for your convenience”.
If you haven’t taken distance education courses before, I feel sure, once you’ve gotten comfortable with the SAGE format, you will also find distance education to be very exciting. If you have taken courses over the internet before, then we welcome you back to this energizing approach to learning. However, things go wrong in this setting just like any other learning environment. Please don’t ever hesitate to call or e-mail me the minute you have a problem. We want to make sure the technology is merely “a way to get the information to you” – we never want it to “get in the way” of getting the information to you. Therefore, we have designed this program to be as simple to use as possible, but, even then, there are times when computers don’t cooperate or instructions are confusing. I'm always available to act as the “interpreter” or “troubleshooter” whenever program or technical problems arise.
Additionally, even though e-mail (mauger.10@osu.edu) is a wonderful convenience, there are times when we need to just hear the person’s voice or have the ability to “talk out” a situation – please feel free to pick up the phone and call me anytime (614-293-8031).
Enjoy SAGE!
