Continuing Education Requirements
Each course in the OSU S.A.G.E. Program is approved for seven (7) hours of continuing education credit by the State of Ohio Board of Executives of Long Term Services and Supports (BELTSS). The BELTSS approval number is 004-SS-17.
Occupational Therapists may complete S.A.G.E. courses and present certificates to their accrediting body for continuing education approval under the guidelines of Ohio Administrative Code 4755-9, Section 4755-9-01(B)(7) as it relates to the clinical practice, management or education of occupational therapy.
Counselors, social workers and marriage and family therapists in Ohio may submit certificates and brief course descpritions for the S.A.G.E. courses to the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board for post program approval. Please contact Michelle Myers for individual course certificates if needed.
Students are required to complete all assigned readings, review all web resources, view assigned videos and participate in weekly discussions with interdisciplinary class members and faculty throughout the semester for each course. Contributions to the discussions are expected to be informed, thoughtful and respectful of others opinions and positions. All students are expected to successfully complete the written assignment(s) in order to effectively demonstrate their proficiency in each course.Course faculty will determine a satisfactory or unsatisfactory grade at the end of each course in the series.
Students will be granted seven hours of continuing education credit (or 21 hours for the Series) from the Office of Geriatrics and Interprofessional Aging Studies at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, which may be presented to professional credentialing organizations for possible continuing education credit.
